Explore V&A Waterfront!
Speaking of the most vibrant and most suitable place for leisurely strolls and photo-taking in Cape Town, we must not miss the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, also often referred to as "Victoria Harbor".
It is not only a historic port, but also a comprehensive leisure area that combines food, shopping, culture and natural scenery.
Whether we are photography enthusiasts with cameras, slow-traveling tourists who want to relax, or families traveling with children, we can find our own fun here.

Ticket Information and Opening Hours

- It is completely free to enter the waterfront area, and we can walk freely around the harbor all day long.
- If you plan to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium: about $15 for adults and about $11 for children, the opening hours are 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM every day.
- Want to experience a harbor cruise? Ordinary boat tickets are about $10–$15, and sunset cruises are about $30–$50. It is recommended to book online in advance.
Most shops and restaurants are open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, but some cafes open earlier.

Transportation: What is the most convenient way to get there?

- Taxi/Uber: It takes about 10–15 minutes to get there from the center of Cape Town, and the cost is about $3–$5.
- MyCiTi Bus (city bus): Take the T01 line and get off at Waterfront Station. The fare is about $1–$2. It is fast and safe.
- Self-driving: There are several paid parking lots in the harbor area, and the cost is about $1–$3/hour. It is a bit crowded during peak hours, so it is recommended to arrive early.
- Walking: It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the city center to the harbor, and the scenery on the way is pleasant.

Recommended experiences that cannot be missed

- Take the Cape Wheel: A perfect angle to overlook the harbor and Table Mountain, the fare is about $10, suitable for couples or parents and children to check in.
- Watershed Market: Here are more than 100 local creative brands, handicrafts, clothing, and artworks.
- Visit the Two Oceans Aquarium: It displays the marine ecology where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, suitable for family trips.
- Seaside open-air square performances: There are often street performers and cultural activities, free to participate, and the atmosphere is excellent.
- Dining at a seaside restaurant: Willoughby & Co. (popular for sushi) or Sevruga for a high-end sea view dinner is recommended.

Best time to visit

- The best tourist season is from November to March of the following year (southern summer), when the sun is shining and the sea breeze is refreshing.
- Morning or evening is the best time to take photos, especially at sunset, when the entire harbor is dyed with golden light, which is super photogenic.
- Avoid the peak hours on weekends in the afternoon so that you can enjoy walking and taking photos easily.

Practical tips

1. Bring a camera or mobile phone charger, there are too many photo opportunities at the beach, especially the background of Table Mountain is very recognizable.
2. Bring a light jacket, even in the summer sea breeze it is easy to catch a cold.
3. There are many activities near the water, it is recommended to wear comfortable, non-slip shoes.
4. The port area is safe, but please do not leave valuables in the open.
5. You can use public Wi-Fi, many restaurants and shopping malls provide free Internet.

Discover our rhythm in the port

Victoria Harbor is not only a port in the geographical sense, but also the first stop for us to explore Cape Town. It is the intersection of modern and history, and the fusion of local life and global travelers. Here, we can hear the whistle of ships, the melody of street singers, and we can also find our own rhythm in the sea breeze.
Why not include it as the first stop of our itinerary-what moment do you look forward to experiencing here? Welcome to leave a message and share your travel dreams with us!
