Oily Skin Favorites
Finding the right foundation can feel like a never-ending journey, especially for oily and acne-prone skin.
Formulations that work well in one season may not suit your skin in another, and factors like humidity, temperature, and skin texture play a huge role.
Personally, I look for foundations that balance longevity, coverage, and comfort without causing breakouts. Here are a few foundations that have stood out in my routine, particularly for managing oil and maintaining a natural finish!

1. NARS Light Reflecting Foundation

NARS Light Reflecting Foundation is a versatile option that works well for both dry and oily skin. The formula is buildable, allowing for either light, natural coverage or a fuller, more polished finish. Despite being slightly pricier, it's a worthwhile investment because it feels comfortable on the skin and doesn't easily cause breakouts.

2. Saie Glowy Super Skin

Saie Glowy Super Skin is a newer foundation in my rotation, but it has quickly become a favorite. The lightweight, glowy formula lasts all day without looking cakey, even during long outings like a day at the zoo. While I haven't tested it as extensively as my NARS foundation yet, it has impressed me with its staying power and comfortable wear.
This foundation offers a fresh, natural finish that's ideal for oily skin, giving just the right amount of luminosity without emphasizing shine.

3. Chantecaille Future Skin

Chantecaille Future Skin is a high-end option that I've tried sparingly due to its steep price. Inspired by the foundations used on TV shows, it delivers a flawless, natural finish that feels lightweight and breathable. While it's expensive, the formula is impressive in terms of coverage and blendability.

4. Makeup by Mario Surreal Skin

While this foundation is popular, it hasn't worked well for my skin type. On my oily skin, it breaks down within a few hours, leaving uneven patches and areas where coverage disappears. It's possible that a specific brush or technique could improve performance, but so far, it hasn't been reliable. The shade matches my skin tone well, which makes it even more disappointing, but longevity is key for oily skin, and this one falls short in that area.
For oily and acne-prone skin, foundations that combine longevity, comfort, and buildable coverage are essential!
