Face Wash Must Have!
Face wash used to feel like the most basic step in my routine—just wash and move on. But after trying different ones, I realized how much it actually sets the tone for everything that follows.
If the cleanser feels off, the rest of the routine somehow never feels quite right. These four gave me very different experiences, depending on what my skin needed that day.

1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

This one is probably the definition of “no drama.” The texture is creamy, almost lotion-like, and it doesn’t foam much at all. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was doing enough, but over time I started to appreciate how calm my skin felt after using it. It doesn’t leave that tight, overly clean feeling—instead, it’s more like your skin just stays comfortable. I usually reach for this when I want something dependable, especially on days when my skin feels a bit sensitive.

2. COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

This one feels fresher, lighter, and a bit more awakening—just like the name suggests. The gel texture turns into a soft foam, and there’s a subtle tea tree scent that makes it feel clean without being too strong. I like using this in the morning when I want to start the day feeling refreshed. It cleans well but still keeps things balanced, so my skin doesn’t feel stripped. It’s simple, but it does its job in a satisfying way.

3. Tulus Balanced Gel Cleanser

This one sits somewhere in the middle—not too gentle, not too deep. The gel texture feels smooth and easy to work with, and it rinses off cleanly without leaving residue. What I like most is how… normal it feels, in a good way. My skin doesn’t feel overly dry or overly moisturized afterward, just balanced. It’s the kind of cleanser I can use without overthinking, especially on regular days when my skin isn’t acting up.

4. Sukin Foaming Cleanser

This one brings a bit more energy to the routine. It foams up nicely, giving that classic “clean” feeling, but without going overboard. There’s a light, natural scent that makes the experience feel a bit more refreshing. I tend to use this when I feel like my skin needs a slightly deeper cleanse—after a long day or when I’ve been out a lot. It leaves my skin feeling fresh, but not in a harsh way.
Looking back at these four, I don’t really see them as competitors—they feel more like options I rotate depending on the moment. Cetaphil is the one I trust when everything needs to stay calm and simple. COSRX gives that light, fresh start that feels right in the morning. Tulus sits comfortably in the middle, easy and balanced without demanding attention. Sukin, on the other hand, steps in when I want that extra-clean feeling after a long day.
