Shampoo Edition!
With so many shampoos lining store shelves, it's hard to know which ones are truly safe for your hair.
Many formulas still contain harsh or potentially harmful ingredients that can cause long-term damage to both your scalp and strands!
1. Maui Shampoo – Yes
This brand earns a strong Yuka rating thanks to its nourishing and moisturizing ingredients. It's a good choice for those with dry or frizzy hair who need extra hydration. The formula is considered relatively safe, making it a solid option to keep in your shower.
2. OGX Shampoo – No
Although coconut oil in the formula provides some hair benefits, the overall Yuka score is questionable. Some ingredients raise concerns about long-term safety, making this one less reliable compared to cleaner alternatives.
3. Aussie Shampoo – No
This one scores poorly with Yuka due to two hazardous ingredients in the formula. While it may deliver temporary shine or softness, the ingredient profile isn't ideal for scalp or hair health in the long run.
4. L'Oréal Shampoo – No
Despite being a widely recognized brand, this shampoo doesn't fare well either. Its Yuka score is low, with at least one hazardous ingredient identified. It may be affordable and easy to find, but safety-wise, it falls short.
When it comes to shampoo, not every brand on the shelf is worth buying. Based on ingredient safety and Yuka ratings, Maui stands out as a safer option, while OGX, Aussie, and L'Oréal raise concerns. If long-term hair health matters most, it's better to invest in products with cleaner formulas.
